![]() Sadly, KIA, as with many manufacturers these days, will seek to deny warranty claims if there is any possible get-out for them. Im curious to know on how will Kia know that you logged into the cars ecu computer or whatever for the warranty to be voided?Ĭlick to expand.Therein lies the problem! If you hadn’t told them anything other than the fact that the odometer had gone haywire, they would never have known. Google keeps track of my driving history via my phone so I know how to calculate what the correct mileage should be. I have a laptop at home and theres no way im paying 89+179 at the dealers just for mileage correction so I like to do it myself. I went to Kia and told them what happened and they said if jump cables are used incorrectly it can cause such a digital error and wont fix it under warranty for free and are charging £89 for the diagnostic and the mileage correction repair is £179. Everything seems fine with my car except the incorrect mileage displaying. ![]() What it is that my neighbour car battery was flat and he had jump leads so he asked for help and I agreed and he used my car to jump start ,and his car started however the strange thing is that my mileage is displaying 9999999 after the jump start. Most modern cars are basically computers nowadays so Im surprised there isnt a sticky on this. ![]() Okay you suggest a good forum or message board that can accommodate this.
